SKS dishwashers are panel-ready built-ins with QuadWash spray arms, TrueSteam, an inverter direct-drive motor and app control over Wi-Fi. Because the front is a cabinet panel, any visit that removes the unit also involves the panel and its brackets. ### A cabinet panel that slides The SKSDW2402P takes a custom cabinet front panel that slides up as the door opens, the TrueFit sliding panel. A panel that binds, rubs or sits at the wrong height shows up as a door that will not close cleanly, so the panel mounting is checked on any latch complaint. ### Door springs set to the panel's weight The door supports panels from about 5.5 to 24.2 lb, and panels over 17.6 lb call for the door spring tension to be adjusted. A door that drops open or will not stay shut often means the springs were never matched to the panel that was fitted. ### A door that opens on its own Auto Open Dry opens the door at the end of cycles that include drying, and it is switched on or off by holding High Temp and Extra Dry together for three seconds. A door that pops open at the end is working as designed; a door that never opens may simply have the feature turned off. ### A leak lockout you cannot switch off On an AE leak code the dishwasher sounds an alert, runs the drain pump on and off, and powers itself back on if you cut the power until the leak is resolved. A red flashing status light at the bottom of the unit is the first sign of a code. Parts Wash-system parts are generally available once the model is confirmed. Panel brackets, door springs and trim specific to the panel-ready design are the items more likely to need ordering ahead, and the custom panel itself comes from the cabinetmaker. Repair or replace Rarely a close call. Is that a latch problem? No. Auto Open Dry opens the door at the end of cycles that include drying, to help the load dry. It can be turned off by holding the High Temp and Extra Dry buttons for three seconds, although drying results may suffer. ### The door drops open too fast since we fitted the cabinet panel. Can that be fixed? Usually, yes. SKS asks for the door spring tension to be adjusted when the panel weighs between 17.6 and 24.2 lb, and the door supports panels up to that limit. A technician can reset the springs and check the panel mounting. ### It shows AE and keeps turning itself back on. What is happening? AE is the water leakage code. The dishwasher sounds an alert, runs the drain pump intermittently, and powers back on by itself until the leak is resolved. Turn off the water supply to the dishwasher and book a visit. ### We just had it installed and it shows OE. Is it defective? On a new install, OE most often means a kinked or pinched drain hose or a disposer whose knockout plug was never removed.
