Error codes

# Dishwasher error codes, read properly.

A code narrows the search and is also the thing most often read wrong: the same characters mean different things on different brands, and a fair number of the codes people look up are not failures at all — they are modes the appliance was left in.

## Find your code, make by make.

Type the characters exactly as the display shows them, or pick the make. Each code has a page of its own: what it means on that brand, what to check, and what not to do.

### Only confirmed codes

Every code here is taken from the manufacturer's own documentation, never from a forum or a parts listing. If yours is not listed, book with the exact characters and the full model number, and we will tell you whether it is one we take.

## Three things before you look it up.

A code is a lead, not a verdict. These decide whether the answer you find will be any use.

01

### Exactly what the display shows

Each character, in order, and whether it blinks. Take a photo before you press anything — opening the door or canceling the cycle can wipe some codes off the panel.

02

### The complete model number

It is printed on a label along the edge of the door or the side of the tub. One code can mean a drain issue on one make and a heater issue on another.

03

### Is water on the floor?

That one answer decides whether you shut the supply valve and switch off the breaker now, or simply book the next open window.

## What each kind of code means.

Codes fall into a handful of families. The family says more about the likely repair than the characters do — and one of them is not a repair at all.

### Mode, not a failure

16 codes

A setting someone turned on, or a reminder the machine shows on purpose — a control lock, a demo mode, a rinse-aid prompt. Nothing is broken and no part is needed.

## Questions about the codes.

### Why is my code missing from these pages?

Only because nobody has written a checked page for it yet. A code is added here only when the manufacturer’s own documentation explains it. Record the characters and whether they blink, and include them in the booking so the technician can check them against your model.

### Does a code mean the same on every brand?

No, and treating it that way leads people astray. A code that reports a drain problem on one make may report a heater or a water supply issue on another, and some makers change meanings between model years. Always read a code against the make and model.

### Can I clear a dishwasher code myself?

Turning the power off at the breaker for a minute or two sometimes clears it, and if it never returns it was often a one-time event. A code that keeps coming back points to a real condition, and clearing it repeatedly only hides how often it happens.

### The panel shows a code but the dishes come out clean. Is something wrong?

Not always. Some of the codes people search for are settings, such as a control lock, a demo mode or a reminder to add rinse aid, rather than anything broken. The code pages mark which are settings and how to turn each one off.
