Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Make sure the supply valve is open and the water line is not bent, especially on a new installation. 02 Check that the drain hose end sits high enough; LG asks for more than 10 inches above the bottom of the machine, or water can siphon out while it fills. 03 If the machine is in a spot that can freeze, thaw the line with a towel soaked in warm water. 04 If IE keeps appearing after those checks, book a visit. ### Still there? Make sure the supply valve is open and the water line is not bent, especially on a new installation. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### My LG shows IE right after installation; what is the likely cause? On a fresh install the usual suspects are a supply valve left partly closed, a bent water line, or a drain hose mounted too low. LG asks for that hose end to sit higher than 10 inches from the machine's base, otherwise water siphons away as fast as it comes in. ### Can a safety fitting on the water line give my LG an IE code? Yes, LG warns that a flood-stop hose or a check valve can cut the fill short, and it recommends an ordinary inlet hose in their place.
