A Kenmore 722 series showing AE, or E1, has detected a water leak. Sears names two causes: water in the cabinet base tripping the flood switch, or a low water level making the pump spin too fast.

Water has reached the base pan under the tub and tripped the float that stops the cycle. Shut off the supply, find where it escaped, then dry the base.
