Clean the air gap on the sink deck if you have one; GE lists it first.
Run the garbage disposal to clear the inlet the drain hose feeds into, and check that the hose is not pinched behind the cabinet.
If C1 keeps coming back after those checks, book a visit for the drain side of the machine.

Do not assume the drain pump has died. GE's first three causes are all outside the machine: the air gap, the hose route and the disposal.
