What is particular
to Dacor.

Current Dacor dishwashers include the Modernist and Heritage DDW24M99/DDW24T99 series and the DDW24G9000AP, which adds the water softener, Auto Release Dry and a Sabbath mode. Which series you have changes the panel hardware, the spring setup and the code list.

A water softener that uses salt

The DDW24G9000AP has a salt storage compartment and a water-hardness setting, and it regenerates its softener during the dry phase. Cloudy glasses, lime film or salty-water corrosion often trace back to an empty salt reservoir or the wrong hardness setting rather than to a failed part.

Spring levels matched to the panel

The Modernist and Heritage models take custom panels of about 7 to 20 lb and set the door spring to one of five levels by panel weight; the DDW24G9000AP accepts panels of 9 to 44 lb. A door that falls open or will not stay shut usually means a spring and panel mismatch.

LC and the leak sensor

An LC code is a leakage check from a sensor under the tub. After the leak is fixed, the sensor has to be dried before the code clears, so an LC that keeps returning may be a wet sensor rather than a new leak.

Two-character information codes

Current models display codes such as 4C (water supply), 5C (drain), HC (heating), 3C (pump) and 1C (low water level, often a clogged filter). Each one points the visit at one system before anything is opened.

Parts

Parts for current Dacor models are generally obtainable once the model and serial number are confirmed. Panel brackets, trim and parts for older, pre-Samsung Dacor generations are the items more likely to take time.

Repair or replace

Usually worth repairing. A Dacor is set into custom cabinetry with a fitted panel, so most repairs cost less than replacing the unit and remaking the panel installation; older generations with hard-to-find parts are the exception.

Does my Dacor dishwasher really need salt?
The DDW24G9000AP has a built-in water softener that uses dishwasher-specific salt, set to your local water hardness. If the salt runs out on hard water, glasses cloud and lime builds up. Use only dishwasher salt; other salts or solvents can damage the softening system.
My Dacor shows LC even after the leak was fixed. Why?
LC comes from the water leakage sensor under the tub. Dacor's instructions have the sensor dried out after the leak is stopped; until it is dry, the code can keep coming back. If LC still appears after that, book a visit.
The door will not stay closed until I push it. Can I close it right after the cycle?
If Auto Release Dry is on, the door opens at the end of the cycle to let steam out, and Dacor notes it cannot be closed by hand for the next two minutes. That is normal. A door that will not hold closed at other times points at the panel weight and door springs.
What does 1C mean?
1C is a low-water-level check. Dacor's first steps are a clogged filter, the use of dishwasher detergent and an evenly loaded rack; if it continues after a restart, the fill system needs a technician.
