What is particular
to Fisher & Paykel.

Single and double DishDrawer models in integrated (panel-ready), contemporary and professional styles, plus full-size drop-door dishwashers. Integrated drawers pause with a knock on the front rather than a button, so a drawer that pauses by itself or ignores a knock points at the knock sensor rather than the controls.

Each drawer is its own dishwasher

Double models run two different cycles at the same time, and the user guide says a problem can sit in one drawer or both, with a different code in each. When only one drawer has stopped, the other stays usable until the visit, and the drawer that still works is useful evidence.

One motor washes and drains

The SmartDrive motor combines the wash and drain functions in a single assembly, with the filter and filter plate sitting directly above it. The guide says the drawer must never run without the motor assembly, filter plate, filter, rack and spray arm in place, so a drawer that will not drain is checked from the filter down.

An internal lid that has to seal

The wash chamber is closed by an internal lid that seals onto the drawer when it shuts. Fisher & Paykel warns against loading items that stop the lid from sealing and against sharp items that can damage it, so tall pans and knife tips are the first things to look at when a drawer leaks or washes poorly.

Two kinds of flashing codes

On the integrated Series 11 drawers a problem shows as a pattern of flashing lights and continuous beeping. Modifier and lock lights flashing together is an F-type code, which a power off and on may clear; modifier lights alone is an A-type code, such as A1 for water supply, A3 for a drawer that cannot drain and A7 for excess foam.

Parts

Fisher & Paykel sells spare parts and accessories through its own site, and the model number on the drawer decides which filter, spray arm and motor assembly fit. On a double model, note which drawer has the problem and which lights are flashing on it before booking.

Repair or replace

Usually worth repairing. A problem in one drawer leaves the other working, and most drawer calls come down to the filter, the spray arm, the lid seal, the drain connection or the motor assembly rather than the cabinet itself.

One drawer of my double DishDrawer works and the other does not. Should I stop using both?
No. Fisher & Paykel's guide says that when one drawer has a problem you can still use the other one, and the two drawers may show different codes. Write down which drawer stopped and which lights are flashing on it; that is the most useful thing you can tell the technician.
My DishDrawer is beeping and the lights are flashing. What does it mean?
It has stopped on a code. If the wash modifier and lock lights flash together it is an F-type code, and switching the drawer off and on again may clear it. If only the modifier lights flash it is an A-type code: A3, for example, means the drawer cannot drain, and the first check is that the filter is clean and seated correctly. If the same code comes back, book a visit.
There is water under the filter after a cycle. Is that a leak?
No. The user guide lists water under the filter as normal, and water pooling on the inner rim of the drawer is normal condensation. Standing water across the drawer floor is different: the guide points at a bent drain hose or a blocked filter.
Why will my integrated DishDrawer not open?
Usually because a lock is on. With the closed-drawer auto lock, knock once on the front and open the drawer within 30 seconds; if KEYLOCK is on, it has to be turned off first. A drawer that stays shut with no lock set is worth a visit.
