What the dishwasher control board and sensor repair
involves.
The control board runs every step of the cycle, and it relies on a small set of inputs: the door switch, the float switch, the thermistor, the turbidity sensor that judges how dirty the water is, and on some models a flow meter or a leak sensor. A board is often blamed when one of those inputs is the real problem, or when the keypad on the door has cracked or taken on moisture. The repair reads the stored codes, runs the service test where one exists, and checks the inputs and wiring before the board itself is condemned.

The kitchen, the climate and the building all change how the dishwasher control board and sensor repair goes. These notes are about that, metro by metro.
All service areasTampa BayFL · 31 areas
Summer lightning around Tampa Bay, one of the most lightning-prone areas in the country, can send surges into a dishwasher's control board, so a machine that went dark after a storm is tested for board and power supply damage.
OrlandoFL · 30 areas
Orlando's frequent afternoon thunderstorms bring power blips that can scramble a dishwasher's electronics, and the technician confirms whether a proper reset clears the problem before a control board is ordered.
Miami / South FloridaFL · 47 areas
Humid salt air in Miami can creep into dishwasher touch panels and top-mounted controls over the years, and a panel that responds only intermittently is checked for moisture and corrosion on its connections.
New York MetroNY · 75 areas
Older New York buildings sometimes put the dishwasher on a shared kitchen circuit, and voltage drops when other appliances run can make the controls reset or act erratically, so the circuit is checked alongside the board.
HoustonTX · 36 areas
After a Houston hurricane-season outage, dishwashers can come back with blank displays or stuck cycles, and the technician separates a tripped breaker or GFCI from real damage to the control board.
ChicagoIL · 50 areas
In older Chicagoland homes, a loose connection at the dishwasher's junction box can cut power mid-cycle, which looks like a control problem until the terminal block behind the kick plate is checked.
Los AngelesCA · 95 areas
Scale on a dishwasher's temperature sensor in hard-water Los Angeles can feed the control a wrong reading, so cycles run long or error codes appear even though the board itself is fine.
San DiegoCA · 31 areas
Many San Diego homeowners run dishwashers late at night on time-of-use electricity plans, and a delay-start that no longer works is a keypad or control question the technician can test directly.
San Francisco Bay AreaCA · 74 areas
Bay Area kitchens are full of connected appliances, and a dishwasher whose app or Wi-Fi module stopped working is checked for a failed module separately from the main control, since the machine may still wash normally.
